JURIS TIMESHEET DOWNLOADS TIME Users of Juris Inc.’s TimeSheet software can download time for billing from their Pocket PC or other device, using Windows CE and Time to Time Pro for Juris from Tom Thumb Software. A Palm Pilot version of Time to Time Pro for Juris also is in the final stages of development, the company reports. Time information is extracted from Time to Time Pro for Juris, using the PC workstation or laptop, and is automatically imported to Juris’ TimeSheet product for billing, the company explains. Attorneys can record time on the same device they use for notes, appointments, and contacts, then download billable information to Juris for billing. ITRONIX GOBOOK NOTEBOOK The Itronix GoBook is geared for field-based mobile workforces, and is designed for rugged indoor and outdoor use. It features an Intel Pentium III or Celeron processor, an integrated peripheral bay (for using a CD-ROM drive or a floppy disk drive), built-in fax modem, and full-feature radio bay with LAN/PAN/WAN options. It also offers a 12.1-inch SVGA TFT color display and 256 MB SDRAM. From Itronix Corp. of Spokane, Wash. WAPDOCS WAPDocs allows access to documents in a Hummingbird (formerly PC DOCS) Document Management System via digital cellular phones, reports Matrix Logic Corp. WAPDocs allows cell phones to access the DMS via its wide area protocol mini-browser and search for and send documents to an e-mail or fax recipient. ROYAL DAVINCI HANDHELD COMPUTERS Royal Consumer Business Products has released four models of its daVinci personal digital assistant handheld computers. The DV1, DV2, DV3, and DV4 feature QuickSearch phonebook searching, currency conversion and a schedule/planner with anniversary functions. All models include a folding palm-sized keyboard as well as a PC docking cradle. The DV1 comes with 1MB of Flash Memory; the DV2 and DV3 are equipped with 2MB of memory, and the DV4 has 4MB of memory. Each PDA uses a stylus and include CompanionLink PC Software for data synchronization with Microsoft Outlook, Schedule +, Lotus Organizer, ACT!, GoldMine and Palm Desktop. SPRINT PCS WIRELESS MULTIMEDIA Sprint PCS and SolidStreaming, a provider of streaming audio and video applications to mobile devices, will begin testing wireless multimedia streaming services. SolidStreaming’s software will enable Sprint PCS to offer its wireless device customers real-time streaming video, audio and text. Sprint PCS has also announced a partnership with FlashPoint Technology that will result in Sprint PCS customers to wirelessly send images to the Internet via the Sprint PCS nationwide network. FlashPoint’s Photivity digital imaging platform will allow users to send images using a digital camera that is connected to a Sprint PCS Internet-ready phone. ADDONICS POCKET DVD The Pocket DVD8x24 is a combination 8x DVD and 24x CD-ROM drive with PC Card and CardBus interfaces, says maker Addonics Technologies. It is a portable drive that provides DVD/MPEG UII as well as CD/CD-RW audio and video playback on all PCMCIA or CardBus equipped mobile computers and desktop PCs. ‘AUDREY’ ORGANIZES YOUR HOME 3Com Corp.’s new Ergo division has launched its first product, with the unlikely name of “Audrey.” A cross between a computer and a Palm organizer, it is designed for home use, and offers one-touch access to e-mail, pre-selected Internet channels, a household calendar, and address book. It is powered by the QNX operating system, fused with Palm HotSynch technology and 3Com designed software. Audrey can work with multiple ISPs and offers Web channels that monitor sports, stock, news and zip-code specific weather reports. It features a built-in V.90 56 Kbps modem and can synchronize with Palm organizer devices.
