Agreement Expands Law.com’s Offerings within $5.5 Billion Court Reporting Industry San Francisco, CA – Feb. 5, 2001 – Making good on its promise to be the leading technology solutions provider in the legal industry, law.com has formed a licensing agreement with StenAccount that will allow it to develop a Windows-based version of the court reporting industry’s most popular management software suite. “Combined with our current base of offerings for the court reporting world, we are confident that this partnership will allow us to provide a comprehensive suite of management services that will automate time-consuming processes in the day-to-day life of court reporting firms-from small to large,” said law.com CEO Bill Feid. “Given StenAccount’s current popularity, we expect a Windows-based version of these applications to be highly appealing.” The licensing agreement between law.com and StenAccount gives law.com the right to develop and market a Windows-based, Web-enabled version of StenAccount’s programs and establishes StenAccount as a reseller of the newly developed services. Law.com will work closely with developers from its subsidiary, realLegal.com, to complete these services and have them fully integrated with their existing transcript management systems by March 2001. “Court reporters have come to rely on realLegal for all their electronic transcript needs and we’re excited to be able to integrate a complete Web-based solution for their businesses,” said Marty Steinberg, president of realLegal. “Scheduling, invoicing, tracking, searching and report generating can be one click from the electronic transcript they’re working on, simplifying their processes and putting more time back into their day.” Winchester, VA-based StenAccount has developed management software for all size firms that include the following functions: calendar, job tracking, invoicing, cash receipts, payroll, reports, query and Report Pro, a powerful database report generator. Its powerful query feature allows firms to run a variety of custom reports, from account receivable reports to billing analysis reports to sales reports. StenAccount currently serves 650 court reporting firms. “As our industry changes and attorneys come to rely on their court reporters for critical historical information, multimedia capabilities and electronic certified transcripts to name a few, we need powerful technological tools designed specifically for these needs,” said Tonie Wallace, CEO of StenAccount. “I’m excited about what this strong, ongoing alliance with law.com will bring to the reporting industry. By integrating our management solutions with the leader in e-Transcript technology, realLegal, we can equip reporters to become total information managers for law firms.” About Law.com Law.com, a privately held company, is the Web’s most comprehensive legal destination and provider of legal application solutions.
