Who needs bouncers named Bruno when you’ve got feisty law students on vacation to watch the door? The Association of American Law Schools hired approximately 30 students as temporary doormen for its four-day annual meeting held last week in San Francisco. Hailing from local law schools like Golden Gate University School of Law and Hastings College of the Law, the students were charged with making sure no professors tried to sneak into any panels without their passes. “We’re the bouncers,” said Janet Tung, an unassuming first-year student at Boalt Hall School of Law who stood guard for a panel on globalization. “If you don’t have a badge you can’t go in.” For her part, Tung says she turned away about four professors. No stinkin’ badges.
