New Jersey will be allowed to list only a sex offender's name when it begins posting "Megan's Law" information online, a federal judge ruled Thursday. Finding that an offender's right to privacy trumps any state need to broadcast the information, the ruling crimps a constitutional amendment overwhelmingly approved by voters that would have allowed the posting of offenders' addresses, physical descriptions and criminal histories.
