� EquiCo Capital Markets has named David M. Blackwood as senior vice president and general counsel. He joins the Costa Mesa, Calif.-based investment bank from Cannon Computer Systems Inc., where he was general counsel. � Myron Marlin, former chief spokesman and director of public affairs at the U.S. Department of Justice, has become vice president and senior strategist at APCO Worldwide, a Washington, D.C.-based public affairs firm. Marlin began his career as a litigator at New York’s Tenzer, Greenblatt, Fallon & Kaplan, and was spokesman for Attorney General Janet Reno. � Modine Manufacturing Co. has named Margaret C. Kelsey to succeed Dean Zakos as senior counsel. Kelsey joined the company from Milwaukee’s Quarles & Brady, where she was a partner. Zakos was recently promoted to general counsel. Racine, Wis.-based Modine specializes in thermal management. The 8,000-employee company reports sales of more than $1 billion. � Wal-Mart Stores Inc. has installed Thomas D. Hyde, the former general counsel at Raytheon Co., in the new position of executive vice president and senior general counsel. Hyde will join Wal-Mart in mid-July and oversee worldwide legal activities. Robert K. Rhoads, Wal-Mart’s senior vice president and general counsel, will remain in his current position and report to Hyde. Bentonville, Ark.-based Wal-Mart boasts annual sales of $191 billion and operates more than 2,600 discount stores nationwide.
