One way or another, Wisconsin Electric Power Company is going to fork over $104.5 million in damages, according to a recent order by Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Patricia McMahon.

In a ruling that sent shivers up the spines of the utility’s executives — and of many in the Milwaukee legal community — McMahon demanded that the money come out of the utility’s coffers and not those of its insurance companies.
