A FREE TRIAL WORTH YOUR BLUE BOOK Never learned Blue Book citation format? Don’t know how to cite the new Federal Supplement Second? Here’s a new product for you with a free trial offer. Legal Citation ( www.legalcitation.com) is a database system designed for legal research and writing. The program uses note-card like forms in which you are prompted to enter your data. After the information has been entered, Legal Citation automatically generates citations in proper Blue Book format. Actually, the program lets you do more than that. The forms you use to enter citation information include fields for keywords and abstracts. After you collect all your research notes, you can organize them for completing your writing. Then the program puts all citations into Blue Book format. You can also reformat citations into other styles. In the works is a version that supports the “Association of Legal Writing Directors (ALWD) Citation Manual.” It is scheduled to be released this summer. You can go to the site and download an evaluation copy to use free for 45 days. After that you must purchase the product to continue using it. The price depends on the type of organization and the number of users. Once you purchase the software, you will receive a CD and a detailed user’s manual. Other online citators only check to see if the citation is still good law. You still have to put it into the correct format. For more information, contact Oberon at 800-243-3833.
