Burma Restaurant, 740 6th Street, N.W., 2nd Floor, 638-1280. Open daily.

Locating the Burma Restaurant is a little bit like finding Burma itself on a map. It helps if you first identify a few of the more prominent neighboring locations. In the case of the country (now known as Myanmar), the neighboring nations are Thailand, China, and India. As for the restaurant, it is located in Chinatown on 6th Street next to Mr. Yungs, one flight up and identified with only a small blue and white sign. But don’t let the modest, less-than-welcoming exterior prevent you from enjoying a dining experience that offers a unique Asian taste similar to, yet distinct from, the now-so-popular cuisine of its Southeast Asian neighbors.
