Even though electronic filing of court cases is mostly a thing of the future, the amount of court information that has reached the Web is still pretty remarkable. The admirable folks at Law Library Resource Xchange, who were thinking about how the Web can help lawyers long before most people were, have put together an omnibus page that links sites containing court rules, forms, and dockets nationwide — federal and state. The site at www.llrx.comis a fine resource for the litigator who suddenly finds herself in a state trial court in, say, Michigan or Arizona. But the site is a bit incomplete: For example, it omits any link to the local rules of the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, a document that is findable on the Web. And for the state courts in my home state of Maryland, there’s very little here. The site doesn’t note a dial-up system for access to some dockets or a brochure describing juvenile court, among other things.
