The Company wishes to maintain a work environment that is free of illegal drugs, alcohol, firearms, explosives or other improper materials. To this end, the Company prohibits the control, possession, transfer, sale or use of such materials on its premises. The cooperation of all employees is required in the administration of this policy. Desks, lockers and other storage devices are provided for the convenience of employees, but remain the sole property of the Company. Accordingly, they, as well as any articles found within them, can be inspected by a representative of the Company at any time, either with or without prior notice. The Company also reserves the right, without prior notice, to search its premises thoroughly at any time and to conduct a search of any person(s), employee(s), belongings and lockers as well as suppliers, vendors or couriers entering or leaving the premises. A search can also be conducted of any of the Company equipment or personal equipment used in the scope and course of employment, including but not limited to computer equipment and files, the online system, personal computers, E-Mail and voicemail. An individual’s vehicle, including the trunk, glove compartment and containers in the vehicle are subject to search if the vehicle is parked on the Company property. The Company may deny entry to the premises to anyone refusing to submit to a search. Failure to cooperate in a search may result in disciplinary action up to and including discharge. This policy is intended to serve solely as an exemplar and may need to be modified to conform to the legal requirements of your jurisdiction or any pertinent collective bargaining agreement and in no way constitutes legal advice.
