The family of a deceased man and a man diagnosed with cancer added their names to a list of former employees who have filed lawsuits against IBM Corp. and a slew of chemical companies, alleging they were exposed to cancer-causing chemicals.
In the complaint filed this week in California’s Santa Clara County Superior Court for damages resulting from personal injury and wrongful death, Manuela Batista and Khalid Haq v. IBM Corp., 788996, Khalid Haq and the family of Aniceto Batista claim that IBM was negligent in exposing the plaintiffs to carcinogenic substances including xylene and acetone.
