Real estate developer Louis J. Capano Jr. sued the Wilmington Country Club for expelling him for lying to a grand jury. The brother of former Wilmington, Del., attorney and convicted murderer Thomas Capano seeks reinstatement and at least $59,000 in damages.

The suit, filed May 5 in the Court of Chancery in Delaware, contends that Capano was voted out of the country club in April 1999 after club members learned the developer made “false statements during testimony before a grand jury.”
