When Paul Metselaar left Morrison Cohen Singer & Weinstein in 1984 to join his family’s struggling leisure travel business, he expected it to be nothing more than a brief interruption in his legal career.

“It was really a situation where my family needed my help,” he recalled recently. “I came in to help out thinking I would go back to practicing law in six months.”
