A Supreme Court term already filled with potential blockbuster cases goteven weightier Friday, as the justices added cases involving partial-birthabortion and gays in the Boy Scouts to their docket.

The Court agreed to consider the case of Stenberg v. Carhart, an appeal ofa decision by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit striking downNebraska’s partial-birth abortion law. Nebraska is one of 30 states that haspassed laws against the controversial late-term procedure.
