Secretary of Labor Alexis M. Herman Jan. 5 rescinded a Department of Labor compliance letter outlining the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s policies regarding employer liability for possible safety and health hazards faced by telecommuting employees working from their homes.
The letter provoked a storm of criticism from employers, industry groups, and Congress.
