The Florida Chiropractic Coalition, a network of South Florida chiropractors, is accusing Humana Medical Plan Inc. of dealing with the doctors in bad faith.
The coalition’s relationship with Humana dates back to 1994, when the chiropractors, who had individual contracts with the insurer, joined forces and formed FCC. Rather than negotiate individual contracts, Humana would contract with the coalition. The FCC would serve as an intermediary between Humana and the chiropractors. The FCC would, among other things, negotiate contracts, coordinate billing and distribute payments.
