The first major California law firm to just say no, Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton told its associates Wednesday it will not hike salaries to match the record raises logged by competing firms.
First-year associates at Sheppard Mullin will make a base salary of $110,000, versus the emerging standard of $125,000, set into motion by tech-rich Bay Area firms.
