Saul Wolfe is a self-proclaimed “bar junkie.” Policy meetings and organizational bylaws, rather than beer and whiskey, are his poisons of choice. So it came as no surprise that Wolfe — New Jersey Bar president from 1988 to 1989 — was nominated to the American Bar Association’s board of governors. “A lot of people elected to the board of governors have a history of serving in state and local bars, but people serve in the ABA without being active and vice versa,” says Wolfe, a partner with Livingston N.J.’s Skoloff & Wolfe. “Then there are people like me, a hopeless bar junkie.” Wolfe, who begins his three-year term later this month, joined the State Bar in the late 1950s and chaired its Young Lawyers Division. He was a member of the tax section’s executive council, a bar trustee and chairman of the Administrative Law Section. Within the ABA, Wolfe co- chaired the custody committee of the Family Law Section and vice-chaired the specialization committee of the General Practice Section.
