A jury gave the Boston public school system a good grade in race relations and dismissed Elizabeth Joseph's claim that she was denied a job as a teacher for more than six years because of race-based preferences. The lawsuit targeted a 25-year-old decision to desegregate Boston schools. That ruling required 20 percent of all teachers to be black and 10 percent to be Hispanic or other minorities.
