Lawyers and bar associations can rest easy when referring a case out now that the Superior Court has confirmed that there is no cause of action in Pennsylvania for the negligent referral of legal services.

The decision in Bourke v. Kazaras, which lets the Philadelphia Bar Association and its employees off the hook for an attorney’s malpractice, appears to be the first Pennsylvania appeals court decision on the issue.
