Two women who sued a New Jersey labor union over sexual epithets leveled at them when they crossed a picket line are trying to reopen a settlement forged on their behalf, saying they never knew their lawyers would wolf down 70 percent of the settlement pie.

The case, Baliko v. International Union of Operating Engineers Local 825, which settled on Dec. 6 after 10 years of ping-ponging between the trial and appellate courts, will be back before Superior Court Judge Catherine Langlois in Morristown later this month. The judge will resolve cross motions by lawyers trying to confirm the settlement and one lawyer trying to undo it.
