Office supplier American Pad & Paper Co. has written itself into Chapter 11 protection in Delaware less than two weeks after bondholders filed an involuntary bankruptcy petition seeking to force the troubled manufacturer to pay more than $1.8 million in interest owed them.

In a voluntary Chapter 11 petition filed in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Wilmington Jan. 18, Dallas-based American Pad listed $496 million in assets and $521 million in liabilities.
