Allegations that judicial candidates in Harris County, Texas funneled illegal campaign contributions to a political action committee through the state Republican Party are being considered by the Texas Ethics Commission. Three Republican women activists filed complaints against District Judge Jane Bland and two state government officials. The complaint against Bland alleges she violated part of the Election Code, which prohibits judicial candidates from contributing more than $500 to a political committee.
