A sexual assault lawsuit against Carnival Cruise Lines that drew national attention has been settled.

Terms of the settlement weren’t disclosed. The case had been scheduled for trial in Miami-Dade Circuit Court on Dec. 13. “I felt it was an important case to be tried,” said Miami attorney Gary Fox of Stewart Tilghman Fox & Bianchi, who represented the alleged victim, identified publicly only as Jane Doe. “But sometimes things happen, and it no longer makes sense to try the case.
