The state Supreme Court has refused to hear appeals in cases Philadelphia Common Pleas Court Administrative Judge John W. Herron reopened last year because of the “derailment” of the cases by a former Beasley Casey & Erbstein attorney.

James E. Beasley asked the court to reopen the cases in 1998 after finding “piles of unopened mail, summary judgment motions, preclusion orders” and other legal documents attorney Thomas W. Smith had allegedly hidden.
