Another year, another heart-wrenching season for Boston Red Sox fans. Their team continued its 81-year championship drought, losing the American League pennant Oct. 18 to the despised New York Yankees.

Boston partisans again are blaming their bad luck on the “Curse of the Bambino.” Since selling Babe Ruth to the Yankees in 1920, the Sox have never won a world championship. Boston has appeared in four World Series since then, but lost each one in seven games.
