Missing language in a state code section will be at the center of an argument Thursday on gun manufacturers’ motion to dismiss a suit by the city of Atlanta.

The city sued the gun industry just five days before the Georgia General Assembly enacted a law that vested the right of suit against the industry exclusively with the state. Timing is therefore a major issue in the pending case. So, too, is the language of that law.
