Judicial and bar leaders announced that starting next year, all business litigation matters will be handled by a new Commerce Case Program for the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas. The new unit will focus on cases filed after Jan. 1, 2000. "This effort is to help make Philadelphia County viable for commercial enterprises that wish to have their types of cases handled in an expeditious manner," said President Judge Alex Bonavitacola.

Administrative Judge John W. Herron and Judge Albert W. Sheppard have been assigned solely to the new unit which will focus on cases filed after Jan. 1, 2000.
