When Vincent James Landano was acquitted last year of murdering a police officer, he was happy just to walk out of the New Jersey courthouse after a battle spanning 22 years, 13 of them in jail. Now, he's seeking $20 million in compensatory and punitive damages. Landano sued the prosecutor's Office, former county prosecutors and the state Attorney General's Office in federal court in Newark, N.J. for malicious prosecution, wrongful imprisonment, the withholding of information and denial of a fair trial.
