Texas plaintiffs’ lawyers will have to wait a few more weeks for a benchmark verdict in a “fen-phen” suit. The nation’s first trial over the diet drug settled on April 8 after four days of testimony in Cleburne.

The trial was being watched closely by lawyers on both sides of the bar because it was the opening round in the latest wave of mass-tort litigation to grip Texas’ plaintiffs’ bar.
