Costa Mesa, Calif.–The 10-month immobilization of the nation’s largest attorney discipline system, the California State Bar, is teaching local bar leaders what they can do on their own to deal with angry consumers.
Local bars don’t have the power, say, to force an attorney to relinquish a client file–much less to suspend an attorney’s license.
