U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York Mary Jo White has blocked the Museum of Modern Art in New York from sending a painting, allegedly stolen by the Nazis, back to Austria, despite a New York Court of Appeals ruling Tuesday that ordered the painting's return. White issued a seizure warrant for one of two Egon Schiele paintings - "Portrait of Wally" - Tuesday night, the museum said. That warrant could stop the museum from sending the painting back to the Leopold Foundation in Vienna.
