An 8-year-old West Philadelphia boy who was dragged several feet while attempting to board a Southeastern Pennsylvania Transit Authority bus was awarded $2.5 million by a common pleas jury yesterday afternoon.

The case revolved around whether the then-6-year-old was a passenger or a trespasser on the Route 23 bus. After more than three days of testimony in front of Judge Nitza Quinones Alejandro, the jury took two hours to find in favor of the plaintiff.
