Constitutional methods for searching a defendant for contraband have become even more constrained with a recent Pa. Supreme Court decision. A majority of the high court granted two defendants' motions to suppress drug evidence in separate cases consolidated on appeal, reversing the Superior Court. But one dissenting justice blasted the reversal in one case, saying it was "rooted in misapplied law and unsound policy." He said the majority was making it difficult for police officers to protect the public.
