Jonathan Hunt sees the makings of change in law firms’ minority recruitment and retention. But the vice chair of the National Black Law Student Association, in town last week for the National Bar Association’s annual conference, knows there is still a ways to go before blacks and other minorities are proportionally represented in the nation’s top law firms.
“I do think it’s changing for the better,” Hunt said Friday during a break from the NBLSA’s day-long meeting at the Philadelphia Marriott Hotel. “But not at a pace that’s keeping up with the number of [minority] law students.”
