The Conn. Supreme Court has ordered a new trial in a medical malpractice suit by a woman with multiple sclerosis, who sued her doctor for misdiagnosing her pregnancy. Patricia Burns had decided not to have any more children and says her gynecologist told her she was sterile. But Burns did become pregnant and gave birth to a healthy girl. Burns is seeking damages for the pregnancy's aggravation of her condition and child care costs. Two years ago, a jury rejected those claims and found for the doctor.
