Heller Ehrman White & McAuliffe is not the first Silicon Valley firm to open an office in New York, but the 430-attorney firm is catching up by merging with an 18-lawyer corporate, securities and litigation boutique already based in New York. The move is part of a plan for Heller to translate 25 years of handling Silicon Valley and other high-tech corporate work to New York's Silicon Alley and to the emerging markets of Europe.
