In a 6-1 ruling, the judges may have broadened Georgia's so-called "one-bite rule," which had given an owner allowances for one bite before he or she could be held liable for injuries inflicted by a pet. The court ruled that, because West Point dog owner Lavern Supan knew of such tendencies, he should have been aware one of his dogs might attack someone.
