The 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals last month allowed a U.S. District Court Judge's dismissal of one juror because he was dressed improperly. The high court's action, indirectly, gave a greenlight to the Southern District's dress code, which requires male jurors to wear a shirt with a collar, jacket and tie, and women to wear a pants suit, dress or skirt. Jeans and shorts are prohibited. The Southern District, which runs from Augusta to Brunswick, is the only one in Georgia with a juror dress code.
