What happens when the king of class action firms, Milberg Weiss Bershad Hynes & Lerach, is hired as a corporate counsel? In the case of a corporate licensor of Pok�mon, Milberg Weiss did just what came naturally: It sued its client for treble damages.

A few years ago, Milberg Weiss started doing corporate work for 4Kids Entertainment Inc., a New York City�based company that owns the United States licensing rights to Pok�mon, the popular animated characters from Japan. Partner Arnold Bressler found the client through a personal relationship with a 4Kids executive, according to partner Melvyn Weiss.
