Howrey (Washington): Theresa M. Gillis joins the firm as partner to launch the intellectual property practice in the New York office. In addition to her litigation practice, she will focus on transactional matters related to intellectual property, including technology development and transfer agreements and licenses. Previously, Gillis was a partner in the New York office of Jones Day and litigated matters related to patents, trademarks, unfair competition, copyrights and trade secrets.

King & Spalding (Atlanta): Donald F. (Fritz) Zimmer Jr. and Brenda Buonaiuto join the firm’s products liability and toxic tort practice as partners in the San Francisco office. Both will focus on pharmaceutical and medical device products liability litigation. Previously, Zimmer and Buonaiuto were partners at Drinker Biddle & Reath, where Zimmer served as vice chairman of the products liability and mass tort practice group.

DLA Piper: Michael Bolton joins the firm’s corporate and finance practice group as a partner in the Houston office, focusing on international transactions in the energy sector and on related issues of corporate finance. Previously, Bolton was a partner in the Houston office of Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, where he represented companies in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, project development and structured finance transactions. Additionally, Drew Wintringham joins the firm as partner in the New York office and will head the intellectual property practice. Previously, Wintringham was a partner and head of the Americas intellectual property group in Clifford Chance’s New York office.

Andrews Kurth (Houston): Paul L. Mitchell joins the firm’s Houston office as a partner in the litigation practice group. Mitchell will focus on commercial litigation, with an emphasis on companies in the energy sector. Previously, Mitchell was a partner in the litigation section at Mayer Brown.
