SAN FRANCISCO Prominent California employment litigator Karen Kubin has left Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld for a new home with Morrison & Foerster’s San Francisco office. Kubin is a leading wage-and-hour class action attorney who defends employers in complex employment litigation against allegations of discrimination, harassment, wage-and-hour violations, trade secret theft, pension violations, Sarbanes-Oxley issues and other whistleblower actions. She won denial of class certification of grocery managers in an action alleging misclassification of workers in Dunbar v. Albertson’s, Inc. 141 Cal. App. 4th 1422 (2006) and a class action case attempting to establish a private right of action for violation of California’s tip pooling statute, Matoff v. Brinker Restaurant Corp., 439 F.Supp. 2d 1035 (C.D. Cal. 2006). “We are excited to add Karen to our outstanding team of trial lawyers with expertise in complex employment matters,” said Steve Kaufmann, chair of Morrison & Foerster’s litigation department. Morrison & Foerster has more than 1,000 lawyers worldwide.
