Events The 20th annual Ruby R. Vale Interschool Corporate Moot Court Competitionwill be hosted from March 27 to March 30 by Widener University School of Law’s Moot Court Honor Society at Widener’s Wilmington, Del., campus. The competition will include a distinguished scholar lecture delivered by Brian G. Cartwright, general counsel for the Securities and Exchange Commission, at 4 p.m. March 28 in the Ruby R. Vale Moot Courtroom in the main law building. The final competition round � judged by Cartwright, Delaware Supreme Court Justices Jack B. Jacobs and Henry duPont Ridgely, Delaware Court of Chancery Vice Chancellor Donald F. Parsons Jr. and former Delaware Supreme Court Justice Joseph T. Walsh � will be held at 2 p.m. March 30 in the Ruby R. Vale Moot Courtroom. Law students from throughout the United States will compete. Higginbotham, chair of Harvard University’s Department of African and African-American Studies, at noon April 2 in the law school’s Duane Morris LLP Moot Courtroom, 1719 N. Broad St., Klein Hall. Higginbotham’s expertise and scholarship span the fields of African-American religious history, women’s history, civil rights, constructions of racial and gender identity, electoral politics and the intersection of theory and history. Recently, she co-edited “African American National Biography,” a multivolume reference work published this year presenting African-American history through more than 4,000 biographical entries. The event will be held on what would have been the 85th birthday of Judge Green.
