Intellectual property and patent specialists Townsend and Townsend and Crew brought Roger D. Wylie into its medical and mechanical devices practice group in Seattle. Wylie, former managing partner at Leydig, Voit & Mayer, in Seattle, brings 17 years experience in the mechanical fields, including consumer goods, complex machinery, medical devices and sporting goods. The firm has doubled the size of its Pacific Northwest office in recent months and the growth is expected to continue, according to the firm. Wylie joins Michael Rosato and Mark McMaster in the medical and mechanical device group. He advises start-up and established corporations, venture investors and other intellectual property stakeholders on patent acquisition, counseling, licensing and litigation. “In less than a year, we have more than doubled the size of our Seattle office and we continue to grow,” said James Gilliland Jr., chairman of Townsend. “We have been fortunate to attract great lawyers like Roger and we look forward to working with him as he continues to build on our reputation as one of the leading patent firms in Seattle. Townsend has 230 lawyers and patent professionals in seven offices around the United States.
