Washington’s Crowell & Moring has added partners Gerallt Owen and Peter Kiernan to the firm’s London office, where they will practice in the regulatory, fraud and corporate crime areas. The two join from London’s Eversheds, where Owen was head of the firm’s fraud and financial crime team and Kiernan headed the firm’s tax investigations practice. “Their move to Crowell & Moring demonstrates our ongoing commitment to the UK market and our belief that London will play an important role in expanding the firm’s premium practice capabilities,” Paul Finlan, head of the firm’s London office, said in a news release. Owen joins as head of international regulatory and corporate crime. He focuses on domestic and international investigations, fraud, corporate crime, disciplinary proceedings and regulatory maters. He also advises corporations and financial institutions on regulatory compliance matters. Kiernan, who joins as head of international investigations, has worked on many fraud investigations and has provided training on investigation techniques and fraud domestically and internationally. Crowell & Moring has more than 400 lawyers in five offices.
