Sidley Austin has added as a partner Timothy Treanor, who most recently served as deputy chief of the organized crime unit in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York. Treanor, who has prosecuted and investigated an array of business crimes, will focus his practice on white-collar defense and investigations. Joining the U.S. attorney’s office in 1996, he worked on matters including health care and bank fraud, wire and mail fraud, racketeering, money laundering, tax evasion and other business crimes. He received a juris doctor degree from Fordham Law School and clerked for U.S. District Judge Harold Allbritton III in the Middle District of Alabama.
