Venture capital specialist Jeremy D. Glaser has emerged from Morrison & Foerster to join Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky & Popeo’s San Diego office to expand its representation of emerging growth companies. Glaser was former co-chair of Morrison’s emerging company/venture capital group and has expertise representing hedge funds, underwriters and issuers in venture capital financings, initial public offerings, mergers, private placements and Securities and Exchange Commission compliance issues. His arrival expands Mintz Levin’s West Coast corporate practice. The firm’s corporate practice completed $40 billion in transactions in 2007, including 54 mergers and acquisitions totaling $33 billion, 45 venture capital deals and 22 public offerings. Glaser “brings added depth and expertise in the corporate and securities filed for both private and public companies critical areas for us as we continue to expand in San Diego to meet the needs of our local and national clients,” said Craig Hunsaker, managing member of Mintz Levin’s San Diego office. Glaser is currently on the board of directors of the San Diego Venture Group and the CONNECT Springboard program. Prior to joining Morrison, Glaser served as general counsel and partner at Sterling Stamos Capital Management, an investment management company. He was also a former partner at Cooley Godward Kronish. The Boston-based firm has nearly 500 lawyers with offices in the United States and the United Kingdom.
