Garen Dodge, chair of Wiley Rein’s labor and employment practice, has left the firm for Jackson Lewis, an employment law firm. Dodge, who started as a partner in Jackson’s Vienna, Va., office last week, says it was hard to leave Wiley, but adds the national platform and specialized focus of Jackson Lewis were too good to pass up. He was also at least partly talked into the move by his friend, Mark de Bernardo, also a partner at Jackson Lewis. Dodge and de Bernardo worked together at Littler Mendelson before Dodge left that firm for Wiley in 2003. Dodge has defended Fortune 500 companies in matters stemming from alleged workplace discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. He has also represented clients before Congress and federal agencies. He says he’s hopeful at least some of his clients will make the move to Jackson. “Garen’s a friend,” says Wiley Rein’s Richard Wiley, “and I wish him well.”
