AKIN GUMP STRAUSS HAUER & FELD Five attorneys have been promoted to partner in Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld’s Washington office. Charles Johnson IV practices in firm’s public law and policy group. He was previously senior policy counsel. Johnson, 41, earned his J.D. from the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law. Thomas McCarthy, 38, is in the firm’s international trade practice. He was previously counsel. McCarthy earned his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law. Fadi Samman, 33, is in the firm’s private equity practice. He was previously counsel. Samman earned his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School. Joshua Waxman, 35, is in the firm’s labor and employment practice. He was previously counsel. He earned his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law. Zachary Wittenberg, previously senior counsel, is in the firm’s corporate finance practice. Wittenberg, 36, earned his J.D. from Duke University School of Law.
DICKSTEIN SHAPIRO Gina Hough, 49, has joined Dickstein Shapiro as counsel in the firm’s intellectual property practice. She was previously at Fannie Mae, where she served as vice president and deputy general counsel. Hough earned her J.D. from Boston College Law School.
FISH & RICHARDSON Three associates were named principals in Fish & Richardson’s Washington office. Indranil Mukerji, 34, focuses his practice on patent litigation. He received his J.D. from Boston University School of Law. Ralph Phillips, 37, also specializes in patent litigation. He received his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School. Timothy Riffe, 37, focuses on patent prosecution. He received his J.D. from the George Washington University Law School.
JACKSON & CAMPBELL Lorraine Canetti, 32, has joined Jackson & Campbell’s Washington office as an associate in the firm’s insurance coverage litigation group. Canetti previously was an associate at Swift Currie McGhee & Hiers. Canetti earned her J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law.
NIXON PEABODY Susan Reaman, 59, has joined Nixon Peabody as counsel in the firm’s syndication practice. She was previously at the Internal Revenue Service as branch chief in the office of associate chief counsel. She received her J.D. from the John Marshall Law School in Chicago.
O’MELVENY & MYERS Theresa Gee, 47, has joined as counsel in O’Melveny & Myers’ Employee Retirement Income Security Act litigation group. She earned her J.D. from the University of California Hastings College of the Law.
SHEPPARD MULLIN RICHTER & HAMPTON Bruce Shirk, 67, has joined as special counsel in Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton’s Washington office in the firm’s government contracts practice group. Shirk previously was a partner with Powell Goldstein. Shirk earned a J.D. from Harvard Law School.
