After gobbling up a 45-lawyer firm in December, LeClairRyan is now poised to merge with a 50-lawyer firm in its own backyard. Richmond, Va.-based LeClairRyan will merge with Wright Robinson Osthimer Tatum, also of Richmond, effective March 31. After the merger, LeClairRyan will have more than 270 attorneys with offices in California, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Virginia and Washington, D.C. It will also gain an internationally recognized e-discovery and litigation management practice. “This represents an excellent opportunity for us to provide our clients with a greater depth and breadth of representation, expanded geographic reach and world class e-discovery and litigation management services, said LeClairRyan Chairman Gary D. LeClair in a statement. Building on LeClairRyan’s recent growth in Boston, New York City, and Newark, N.J., the merger bolsters LeClairRyan’s litigation practice in the areas of products liability, construction, employment, and the aviation industry. Effective Dec. 31, 2007, LeClairRyan < href=”http://www.law.com/jsp/nlj/PubArticleNLJ.jsp?id=1196762671381″  merged with the law firm Seiden Wayne, giving it 50 lawyers in the New York City metropolitan market. In 2007, the firm also moved into the Boston market with the opening of an office with 16 attorneys, and hopes to expand to 50 there. The firm was ranked 246 in The National Law Journal‘s 2007 ranking of the nation’s largest law firms.
